Melissa Hill
If you are feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to best help your child or teen, I want to help. I love to work with kids and teens age 5 and up with eating struggles, anxiety and neurodivergence, as well as working with their families to help them best support their kids. I also love to incorporate play and humor into sessions- no matter the age! Change is hard, but I believe play and humor can help soften challenges and struggles we face. I have a warm and empathic approach and enjoy trying to bring comfort during times of stress and uncertainty.
I have worked at a pediatric inpatient eating disorder clinic for over a decade and am excited to now help provide services in an outpatient setting! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor that is specialized in working with kids, teens and their families. I’m also a Registered Play Therapist and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist.
I grew up in Mississippi and attended Mississippi College for my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I am trained in family systems and earned my masters degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I have always had a passion for working with children and acquired my Registered Play Therapy credential, primarily focused in learning Child-Centered Play Therapy from the University of North Texas. I also provide sand tray therapy to folks of all ages. In addition, I have experience in using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. I have an almost 12 year old daughter and 3 year old son who keep me busy! I love animals, especially dogs! We have 2 dogs, who I also consider to be my 4-legged kids. My hobbies include arts and crafts, writing, singing and dancing silly, shopping, hiking, and traveling.
Melissa’s fees are $195 per 50 minutes session, and she will be in network with Aetna and United soon!
