Jennifer Vittitow

Do you ever feel confused, overwhelmed, or anxious about what you “should” be eating—and find yourself wishing you could simply feel more at peace with food? With so much conflicting information about food and nutrition, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction and know what is truly right for you.

What if your relationship with food could bring more freedom, flexibility, and enjoyment to your life—not more rules or stress? I believe it can. My goal is to help you develop a healthy, sustainable relationship with food while honoring your individual needs, values, preferences, and goals. I take a personalized, non-diet approach and work alongside you to find strategies that feel realistic and sustainable for your life.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families seeking healing from eating disorders and disordered eating. I have experience supporting individuals with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, OSFED, and other food- and nutrition-related concerns. I also work with clients managing diabetes, celiac disease, food allergies, and other medical nutrition needs.

Our work together will look different for everyone. Depending on your needs, sessions may include nutrition education, meal planning, nutrition exposures, experiential nutrition sessions, family support, and coordination of care with your treatment team.

I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2006. Prior to joining Embodied, I spent 11 years at an eating disorder treatment facility, where I served in a variety of roles—from Clinical Dietitian and Nutrition Manager to National Director of Nutrition Services. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of eating disorders and, more importantly, for the courage it takes to seek healing.

I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant and a Certified Intuitive Eating Pro. As a Christian, I also have experience incorporating faith-based principles into nutrition counseling when they are meaningful to my clients. I believe care should be both evidence-based and deeply personal, and I value getting to know you as a whole person—not just your nutrition concerns.

My Nutrition Philosophy

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Of course, there are a few exceptions—like foods you’re allergic to, food that has gone bad, or foods you simply have never liked. (For example, there’s nothing that would make me want to eat fish!

I don’t believe in “good” foods or “bad” foods. A brownie is just as permissible as a salad! Food is meant to nourish us, and it is also meant to be enjoyed, shared, celebrated, and experienced as part of life. My desire is to support you with feeling more confident and flexible around food rather than controlled by it. Together, we can work toward greater freedom, balance, and peace with eating so that food can take its appropriate place in your life—and you can spend more energy focusing on the people and experiences that matter most.

A Bit More About Me

Outside of work, I love spending time with my fun-loving husband, playing with my adorable Goldendoodles, and trying new restaurants—especially when dessert is involved! Whenever we can, we also like taking trips to Disney World, where I enjoy walking around the parks and, of course, making a stop at Gideon’s Bakehouse for their cookies (if you know, you know!).

I feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the challenges of eating disorders and disordered eating. I truly believe a more peaceful and joyful relationship with food is possible—no matter how long you have struggled or how difficult things may feel right now. And if it’s hard to believe that things could ever get better, I’m happy to hold that hope for you until you’re ready to reach for it yourself.

Together, we can begin to find a path toward greater freedom, peace, and joy with food—and ultimately, more room in your life for the people and experiences that matter most.
