Your first session is like opening a new chapter in your story. If you've never been to therapy before, welcome! Although being nervous before your first session is totally normal, be assured that it's much easier than you think. Your therapist will get to know you, the history of the issues you want to address, work with you to identify what you want to get out of therapy, and recommend a treatment plan to help you reach your goals. Our therapists will create a safe and welcoming space where you can express yourself freely—no pressure, just support.
Navigating insurance can feel like solving a puzzle, but we’re here to help! Several of our therapist accept various insurance plans, but coverage can vary. We recommend checking with your provider to see what services are covered. We can also provide superbills for any out-of-pocket expenses if you need them. Many of our clients have had success getting some or all of the cost of sessions reimbursed out-of-network. Each clinician has what insurances they take listed on their profile. If you have questions, feel free to call or email us any time!
Every recovery journey is unique. Some individuals may find relief and progress in just a few sessions, while others may prefer a longer-term approach. We’ll work together to create a plan that feels right for you and your pace.

Our team is highly specialized in treating teens who are have been traumatized or have severe eating disorders. It is normal for teens, especially if treatment was not their idea, to need several sessions to get comfortable. Our offices are full of board games, coloring books, fidget toys, and other tools to help adolescents get settled. We suggest requiring that your child attend counseling if they are struggling, but giving them as much choice as possible in the process. For instance, your child may want to have a say in which therapist they see. We're happy to help them find the right fit, and help them get comfortable once they're here.

Thank you for taking the time to explore our FAQ page! Remember, every step you take toward recovery is a step toward a brighter, more fulfilling life. We’re excited to be part of your journey!
